I currently service primarily the Lancaster County area, as well as the Schuylkill County area, with a satellite office in Pottsville. Since entering private practice in 1985, I have concentrated in the areas of civil litigation and domestic relations. I have 40 years' trial experience and have tried numerous civil jury trials, and hundreds of other civil matters, including divorce, custody support, workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, and other civil non-jury matters, and I have also written many appellate and lower court briefs and argued numerous matters before the Superior Court, Commonwealth Court, and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Approximately 60% of my practice is in the area of civil litigation, and the balance of my practice deals primarily with family law, including divorce, custody, support and adoption. Additionally, since entering private practice, I have taught dozens of courses on behalf of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Lancaster Bar Association, and various other legal organizations. My responsibilities as an instructor increased with the advent of the rule requiring attorneys in Pennsylvania to attend ethics courses, and I have been a regular contributor to the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s seminars on legal ethics. I regularly attend continuing legal education seminars, as well, primarily in the areas of civil litigation and domestic relations law.
